Lessons from Job

I find that Job is a much referenced Bible character because he is often applauded for his attitude during a severe testing period.  Besides Job's response however what strikes me immensely is the fact that it was God who brought Job to Satan's attention.  I had to do a double take on that because my first thought is "Seriously God?" But the Book of James tells us that the testing of our faith brings about strength in God and we need to develop that strength/perseverance in order to become better in our Christian walk.

Pastor Duane Madden of Hillview Baptist, Montego Bay made a point @ the recently held Baptist Youth Conference on the 1st of April that really resonated with me. He pointed out that God doesn't allow his people to face tests they cannot pass, and if He permits it, it's because He knows we can handle it. Pastor Madden of course referenced 1 Corinthians 10:13 (an absolute favourite of mine) and spoke to the fact that God always makes a way.

I had to pause n say "wow!"  I really appreciated the reminder that just like Job, Satan is gonna be in the background tryna mess stuff up but if God says "have you considered my servant Daniele?" (or whatever your name is) it means He's permitting this into your life cuz he knows you can handle it (with His strength of course :-)  That still doesn't mitigate all the anxiety on my part but it's gonna b a part of spiritual growth, when the fear begins to creep in, I remind my self that I can handle this because God never leaves His kids hanging.

  1. Daniele I missed your writing! Thanks for this though. When next I am tempted I will just picture God saying "have you considered my servant Dale?". We will make it when we trust Him. #beblessed

    1. We certainly will! Isn't it something? The end of the story (Revelations) tells us the game's 'fixed', we've already won. But while we live here we're assured that we're only given the tests we can pass, n when we're tempted God's given us a way of escape! Wow!
